Washington, SANA-The establishment of the US-Syrian Business Council was announced Saturday in Washington as an independent, non-profit, and non-political organization.
The council said, in a statement, that it aims to be an effective platform for building bridges of economic and commercial cooperation between Syria and the United States, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and providing insights to companies and investors.
It added that this will contribute to supporting reconstruction efforts and achieving sustainable economic development in Syria after years of difficult challenges.
The council said that during the next phase, it will work to organize trade delegations and investment conferences between the two countries. It will also provide comprehensive advisory services to relevant official bodies and organize legal and tax aspects and export and import requirements in coordination with the chambers of commerce.
It called on all companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and economic experts to communicate and cooperate directly in order to build strong and sustainable trade relations between Syria and the United States.
Issam Ghreiwati, a founding member of the Council, affirmed that the Council represents a promising economic platform to support the reconstruction of modern Syria.
He stated that the Council will contribute to achieving a solid economic and trade partnership between Damascus and Washington.
For his part, Jihad Salqini, a founding member of the Council, announced that his company, FSN Telecom, is the first American company to launch 4G services in northern Syria, thus contributing to building a modern communications future for the country.
